The Wave
Rote Island is known for its crystal-clear water, relaxed island vibe and fun reef waves around Nembrala. The main wave, T-Land, is a long left-hander that can offer super smooth rides, playful walls and plenty of time to practice turns when the conditions line up.

It’s a great destination for intermediate to advanced surfers. On smaller days, T-Land can be more mellow and user-friendly, while bigger swells bring longer, faster and more powerful sections. Since most waves break over reef, being confident in the water and having some reef experience is recommended.

The area offers a nice mix of waves within reach. T-Land is the most famous spot, known for its long lefts and consistent sessions. Bo’a can be more powerful and hollow, better suited for experienced surfers when it’s on. Squealer is another fun option that can offer playful walls and faster sections depending on the swell and tide. Around Nembrala, there’s usually a wave that fits the day, whether you’re looking for mellow cruisy rides or something with a bit more push.
