The family runs everything themselves, giving guests a truly local experience.

The Wave
The Mentawais are famous for their perfect reef breaks, long peeling waves and super consistent swell. You’ll find everything from playful walls for carving to fast, hollow barrels over shallow reef, with a mix of left-handers, right-handers and some dreamy A-frames.

It’s mainly a destination for intermediate to advanced surfers. Intermediate surfers can score amazing waves on smaller, cleaner days, while advanced surfers will love the more powerful and technical breaks. Since most spots break over reef, confidence in the water and some experience with bigger surf is definitely recommended.

The islands offer a wide variety of waves: Burgerworld is known for fun, more user-friendly rights, Beng Beng is a playful left that can be great for intermediate surfers on the right day, while Kandui is one of the heavier, faster waves in the area and better suited for advanced surfers. Depending on the swell, wind and tide, there’s usually a spot that fits your level and the conditions.
